Open Source Intelligence (OSINT): Gathering Information on a Target from Public Sources
Passive information gathering is referred to as OSINT. This involves gathering information that is free available and made accessible to the general public. Reconnaissance (information gathering) is the first step and a very vital step in ethical hacking/penetration testing. This is where hackers and pentesters spend most of their time gathering information on their target. The more information gathered at this stage will determine the overall success of the whole pentesting exercise.
This course teaches how to perform OSINT using very powerful tools: FOCA, Recon-ng, Maltego, Censys, Shodan, theHarvester, Whois and Nslookup.
This course is ideal for professionals as well as beginners. This course will benefit anyone who wishes to learn how to find out information about any company or organization. This course will be particularly useful to information security professionals and penetration testers.
